First Visit
Health Information Forms
Upon entering the office, we have some health information forms for you to fill out. This information will provide us with general information about yourself and your condition. You can also fill out the forms in advance and bring them with you to your first visit by visiting our Forms section of our website and print them ahead of time.
Consultation
Once your forms have been completed, you will have a consultation to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options.
History and Examination
After your consultation, we will ask you various questions related to your condition. Next, a number of specialized (non-invasive) computerized spinal scan tests will help determine which soft tissues such as nerves and muscles are affected and to what extent. Also performed are several orthopedic and neurological tests along with a range of motion and postural exam. example of the computerized spinal scan
X-ray Studies
Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to either rule out more serious conditions, confirm examination findings and assist the doctor in developing the most effective treatment plan for you.
Physician or other Diagnostic Procedure Referrals
If the doctor determines that one or more of your conditions requires a referral to another healthcare specialist for additional testing or concurrent treatment or to a facilty for additional diagnostic tests, our office will make the referal and coordinate your care between our office and theirs to provide the best of care for you and the treatment of your condition.
Same Day Treatment
Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, you will have the option of either receiving your first treatment during this same visit and have a full Report of their findings on your next visit OR begin your treatment on your next visit after a full report of findings. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies.
Home Instructions
After your treatment will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to avoid or be conducted at home that make you pro-active in your own recovery. This may include (but not limited to) ice or heat application instructions as well as home exercises and/or stretches, orthopedic supports etc..
Schedule Your Next Appointment
You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Generally speaking, you are seen within 1-2 days and are provided with a complete report of your findings. Treatment options for your condition will be discussed and YOU will choose the plan that is best suited for your needs and your condition. Also Insurance benefits and financial arrangements will be discussed during this time.
